Western North Carolina, one of the most beautiful areas of our country. This is not said in boast, but in fact, attested to by the vast number of people who visit…and sometimes stay.
The Great Smoky Mountain National Park is the most visited National Park in our nation. What better testimony can there be? There is so much to see and do here, it might take a lifetime. Many visitors think so, and decide to make WNC their home, so it has become a premier retirement destination for thousands of Baby Boomers. The reasons are varied, but the people and the mountain scenery are the main draw. The motto of the city of Asheville may sum it up: Altitude Affects Attitude. Also, to paraphrase a popular saying here: I may not have been born in Western North Carolina, but I got here as fast as I could.
If you are visiting our part of heaven, or just visiting this web site, welcome. We know you will enjoy your stay, and we hope our web site entices you to visit if you haven’t already. If you do visit, you should be warned: You may leave the mountains of Western North Carolina, but they never leave you. And if you already live here…hey! ~Mike McDonald |
